From the villa's gate, the nearest sea is at Lido Rossello, one kilometre away: three minutes by car, about twenty on foot. It's the long, pale beach in the photo above, below the Capo Rossello lighthouse. The distances on this page come from OpenStreetMap, not rounded.
Then, in order: the Capo Rossello beach at 1.3 km, the one below the Scala dei Turchi at 1.4, Punta Grande at 2.7, Marinella at 3.9 and Pergole at 5. Pale sand, white marl cliffs and a sea that turns from green to turquoise within a few metres.
In short: six beaches within five kilometres, and you can walk to the nearest one.
The Scala dei Turchi deserves a story of its own: the cliff is 1.8 km from the villa, the beach below it 1.4 km. It isn't “a minute away”, as you may read elsewhere: it's four minutes by car, or a walk. We've written a separate article on when to go and what to know first.
The beaches, nearest first
Distances from the front gate:
- Lido Rossello: 1 km

Further away, 24 km, there's Eraclea Minoa. And for the hours when you don't feel like going anywhere, there's the villa's pool, open all year round with no set hours.
If one morning you fancy a change of scenery, the Valley of the Temples is six kilometres away: visit before the sun gets too strong and you're back in time for a swim.
