Privacy

In short. We use your data only to answer your enquiries and manage your stay. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or build profiles.

1. Data controller

2. What data we process

  • What you send us: through the contact form your name, email, phone, subject and message; or what you send by phone, WhatsApp or email.
  • Stay data: the guests' ID documents and the information Italian law requires us to report (guests to the police, art. 109 TULPS; statistics to the Region; tourist tax where applicable).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and pages viewed, logged by the servers hosting the site to run and protect it.
  • Browsing statistics, only if you accept them: with Microsoft Clarity we see how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, session recordings), with form fields masked.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply, send a quote and manage your booking: pre-contractual steps and contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
  • For the legal obligations linked to the stay (art. 6.1.c GDPR).
  • For site security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR).
  • For statistics with Microsoft Clarity and to show YouTube videos and the Google map: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time from “Cookie preferences”.

We do no marketing: writing to us does not sign you up to any newsletter.

4. Who else processes it

  • Netlify, Inc. (United States): hosts the site and receives contact form messages. Transfers outside the EU rely on GDPR safeguards (EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).
  • Holidu GmbH (Germany): runs the calendar and online bookings. What you enter in the calendar is processed by Holidu as an independent controller, under its own policy.
  • Microsoft Corporation (United States): Microsoft Clarity, only if you accept statistics, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Google: the site fonts (Google Fonts) and, only if you accept external content, the map (Google Maps) and videos (YouTube). Google receives your IP address.
  • jsDelivr: serves some site files (Bootstrap) and receives your IP address.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to message us there.

We share data with no one else, except the authorities when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become a booking: 24 months at most, then deleted. Booking data: as long as tax and civil law require, up to 10 years. Server logs: as long as the hosting provider keeps them.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a readable format (arts. 15–22 GDPR). Just write to villacharmandelegance@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante).
